Wellington Sports Academy is a major development for western Palm Beach County’s sports and youth athletics community. Founded by Jon Bostic — a Palm Beach Central High School alumnus, University of Florida linebacker, and 10-year NFL veteran — the facility is located at Wellington Community Park along South Shore Boulevard, the same site where Bostic said he first started playing sports as a child. The project is structured as a public-private partnership with the Village of Wellington.
About Jon Bostic and the Wellington Sports Academy Vision
Jon Bostic grew up in Wellington, attended Palm Beach Central High School, went on to play linebacker at the University of Florida, and had a 10-year career in the NFL. When it came time to give back through athletics, he chose to start at home.

What the Facility Will Offer
Wellington Sports Academy is designed to serve a wide range of athletes — from youth programs through professional training, and across both men’s and women’s sports.
“Right now, we’re offering 12 different sports. This is the biggest training facility in the state of Florida, one of the biggest in the country.”

The facility is located at Wellington Community Park on South Shore Boulevard and is part of a public-private partnership with the Village of Wellington. Village manager Jim Barnes described the public access component of the arrangement:
“Public access is key to the public-private partnership. Access would be access not only to the indoor facility but the outdoor field space.”

Groundbreaking and Development Status
The groundbreaking ceremony was held in September 2024. Wellington Sports Academy shared the following following the ceremony:
