Start with the outing you will actually repeat. Pooch Pines and Lake Woof are county-operated options, Wellington has a separate village dog park, and Jupiter allows dogs on a designated beach stretch. These places can make a move more enjoyable, but a nearby public dog park does not override the pet rules for your home. Top Dog Parks in Palm Beach County
City Paws at Howard Park - West Palm Beach
The city lists City Paws at 1302 Parker Avenue. It is an urban option to investigate when comparing West Palm Beach homes. The separate Howard Park Community Center page currently says the center is closed for renovation; that notice alone does not establish that City Paws is closed. Check with the city for the dog park's current status and access before making a special trip.
Pooch Pines at Okeeheelee Park - west of West Palm Beach
At 7715 Forest Hill Boulevard, Pooch Pines has two large-dog sections used on rotation and a small-dog section. The county lists a dog wash, drinking fountains with pet fountains, shaded seating and nearby parking. It opens sunrise to sunset except for its Wednesday noon-to-3 PM maintenance closure.
Wellington Dog Park - Greenbriar Park
The village lists the dog park at 2975 Greenbriar Boulevard, within Greenbriar Park. Its fenced off-leash space is divided into small, medium and large dog sections, with wash stations, dog and owner water fountains and shade pavilions. It opens dawn to dusk and closes until 3 PM each Thursday for maintenance. Handlers must be at least 16, with a maximum of three dogs per handler; licenses and vaccinations are required.
Canine Corner at Dreher Park South - West Palm Beach
The city's current directory calls this dog park Canine Corner at Dreher Park South and lists 1301 Summit Boulevard. Use that specific entrance and current city information when planning a visit. The broader Dreher Park name does not identify the exact dog area, and the county dog-park rules below should not be assumed to govern a city-operated facility.
Lake Woof at John Prince Memorial Park - Lake Worth
Lake Woof is at 2520 Lake Worth Road. The county lists small, medium and large dog sections, plus two sections used on rotation for rest and maintenance. Gazebos, a dog wash and drinking fountains are listed amenities. It opens sunrise to sunset, with a Thursday noon-to-3 PM maintenance closure.
Commons Park - Royal Palm Beach
Royal Palm Beach lists a dog park among the amenities at Commons Park, 11600 Poinciana Boulevard. It is a western-county option to compare with Greenbriar and Okeeheelee. Confirm the current dog-area rules, hours and any closure with the village; do not import another municipality's dog limits or assume all of Commons Park is an off-leash space.

County-operated parks and weekly maintenance
The county dog-park directory also includes Canine Cove and Lake Ida. All four county-operated dog parks list sunrise-to-sunset hours, with the following recurring maintenance closures:

The county limits handlers to two dogs, prohibits puppies under four months and female dogs in heat, and requires vaccinations and current licenses. Leash dogs before entering and on leaving, keep the leash in hand and stay within view of your dog. No food is allowed; remove an aggressive dog immediately and supervise children closely. Follow the posted size divisions. These are county-facility rules, not a promise that every municipal park uses the same rules.
Jupiter: F.I.N.D. Park
The town lists a dog park at F.I.N.D. Park with two fenced areas, one for large breeds and one for small breeds. This offers a fenced option distinct from the dog-friendly beach. Check the town facility page for current access and posted rules.
Jupiter Dog Beach: stay within the designated boundaries
The Town of Jupiter identifies a 2.5-mile dog-friendly beach stretch from marker 26 at Marcinski Road north to marker 57 at the Carlin Park property line. Its current 2026 beach map uses the same boundaries. This is a designated part of the beach, not permission to let dogs run throughout nearby parks or on every county beach.
- Control: The town allows well-behaved, non-aggressive dogs that respond to voice commands in the designated area. Supervise your dog and stay inside its boundaries.
- Getting there: Leash your dog between the car and beach. The beach is shared with people who may not want contact with dogs.
- Clean up: Waste bags are provided at crossovers. Bring water and shade, watch hot sand and check current water conditions and beach notices.
Read the town's dog-beach page before you go. For a weekend visit from another part of the county, test the actual route and parking arrangements instead of relying on a fixed drive-time estimate.
Choose a home around the dog's ordinary week
A fenced dog park can provide a place to socialize after work; a beach outing can be a weekend treat. A quieter walk near home may matter more for a dog that finds crowds stressful. Compare the route from the actual property, the posted hours and the maintenance day before deciding which location fits.
The tradeoff is practical: a larger private yard brings mowing, fence and drainage responsibilities, while a shared community can have limits on pets or fencing. Request the actual HOA or condo pet rules, lease restrictions where applicable and fence requirements. Ask your insurance professional about the exact dog and property. Public park access does not establish that a home allows your pets.
The county says dogs are not allowed on county beaches, with the exception of service animals as defined by the ADA; it also excludes dogs from certain parks and posted areas.
