With Christmas just days away, there was something fitting about walking into Hard Rock Live and seeing the word Creedmas lit up behind the stage, with lights cutting through the room like it was part concert, part holiday moment. The timing couldn’t have been better.

Seeing Creed that close to Christmas felt different — not just another show on a tour calendar, but a moment. A year-ender. The kind of night that sticks with you.

I never got to see Creed when they were at the height of their run in the late 90s and early 2000s. Back then, the closest I came was watching them on the Super Bowl halftime stage. And if you’re doing the Super Bowl, you’re not an average band — you’ve already made it.

Last night finally filled that gap, and Scott Stapp still knows exactly how to lead a room.

A Show That Never Let Up

This wasn’t a nostalgia act going through the motions. This was a band that still knows how to command a crowd.

From the first song to the encore, it was banger after banger. Every time you thought there was no way it could get better, they rolled right into another song that somehow topped the last. The crowd didn’t drift. The energy didn’t dip. You could feel the room leaning forward the entire night.

People don’t walk away from shows remembering exact setlists. They remember how the night made them feel. Creed tapped directly into that — and held it for the entire set.

Why Hard Rock Live Just Works

The venue matters, and Hard Rock Live is one of my favorites.

For me, it’s about a 45-minute drive straight up the Turnpike from the Lake Worth exit, which makes it easy compared to most South Florida shows. Fully indoor and air-conditioned, smooth entry, clean exit — it checks every box.

Compare that to outdoor venues like iTHINK Financial Amphitheatre. Great shows, but you’re dealing with heat, weather, and that slow post-concert crawl out. Hard Rock Live keeps the focus where it belongs — on the music.

Florida Roots, Real Lives, No Gimmicks

Creed is a Florida band, originally formed in Tallahassee, and that local connection makes nights like this hit a little differently for fans here.

What stood out most is that this reunion didn’t feel forced. It felt intentional. Each band member has their own life and projects outside the spotlight — Mark Tremonti, for example, has spoken openly about his daughter Stella having Down syndrome and released work tied to that part of his life. That tells you a lot about where they’re at. This wasn’t about chasing relevance. It was about coming back together and doing it right.

And it showed.

Music That Carries Forward

One thing that really hit me last night was thinking about my five boys — Mason, Braiden, Ethan, Jackson, and Gavin.

Jen and I grew up the way a lot of Gen X did, living our lives through music. Road trips, weekends, everyday moments — there was always a soundtrack, and it mattered. Because of that, our boys grew up on it too. If you hop in their cars today, you’re far more likely to hear bands like Creed than anything from today’s charts. That music stuck. It became part of how they grew up, just like it did for us.

Standing there during Creedmas, sending them videos, it really drove home how powerful that connection still is.

We Tried to Get the Boys There — For a Reason

We were sending videos from the concert, trying to figure out if there was any way the boys could catch Creed live too. Looking at the schedule, it doesn’t seem like that’s going to happen — not this year, and not next year either based on what’s currently on the books. Between commitments and individual projects, this tour feels like a window.

I’m glad we didn’t miss it.

A Top Five Show, No Hesitation

I don’t say this lightly. This was one of the top five concerts I’ve ever seen.

Not because it was loud. Not because it was nostalgic. But because it was complete. Great music. Tight production. A venue that made it easy to enjoy. And a band that reminded everyone in the room why their music mattered in the first place.

With Christmas right around the corner, Creedmas was the perfect way to close out the year. Some concerts are just shows. Others become memories you’re glad you didn’t skip. This one was the latter.
